I have been going to camp for seven years now and it has gotten better every single year — if that's even possible. Camp Seymour is my happy place. It grounds me and takes me away from distractions, immersing me in an environment of loving, caring, people who accept and encourage me. Camp has become such a big part of my life. I don't even know who I'd be without it because every time I go to camp I learn something new about myself and those around me.

The first year I came to camp I decided I was going to be a cabin leader when I was old enough to do so. I am currently in the Leadership Development Program (LDP) which has been beneficial to me and my progress as a leader.

Next year I will hopefully become an Assistant Leader during the summer as well as volunteer during the off-season. The people I work with have become the closest friends I have. Everyone working or volunteering at this Camp Seymour does so because they genuinely love the work they are doing and the impact they are making on all the people that come to camp — whether it be at summer camp, family camps, or any of the work that we do.

One day I made the drive from Seattle just to make pamphlets for the summer staff, and I loved every second of it. My most meaningful year at camp was the one where in which I participated in TREK #44. My trail leaders Mango, Brenna, Remix, and Melon were some of the best leaders I've ever had. They were all welcoming, wonderful, funny people who never failed to put a smile on my face. My Trekmates did the same. In the two weeks that we were together, we bonded like I have never bonded with any one person before, let alone a group of 17 kids.
