LEAD offers hands-on opportunities for teens to enhance their skills working with children. They focus on group dynamics, helping kids learn to friendship building skills, examining their own leadership style, developing confidence in leadership situations and preparing to become summer staff at YMCA Camp Seymour and beyond.
LEAD is a high-intensity leadership experience that develops the skills and mindset needed to be an outstanding day/resident camp counselor. The program places an emphasis on group leadership, values, understanding children, and respecting diversity.
LEAD participants stay in a co-ed cabin, under the close supervision of our finest staff. LEAD 2010 will have 10 participants per session and combine creative leadership activities with opportunities to gain valuable hands-on experience working with campers.
LEAD Parent Packets will be mailled to all participants.
